Whew, that was close! I actually didn't think I would make it, it was a terrible icon but it was the best I could manage. Anyways. Comments for #2, please! Unscreened is fine.
Least Favorite: - though the moodiness of the icon is a definite draw, I think it's far too dark. I can barely see's Sam's face. - I'm so torn because what is visible of Sam's face is really pretty and intriguing, but the rest is just so dark on my computer screen that it takes away from the moodiness. If I wasn't already familiar with the cap, I wouldn't know what was going on here. - The moodiness of this icon is really fantastic. It fits the cap perfectly. I think, however, this icon could have used a little more perhaps? A little texturization would really make this one pop and/or going full negative space instead of leaving us with the illusion that it should have been negative space. Or even some additional light work highlighting the space directly behind his face to really wonderful. Or text! So many options! It just needed that little something extra to tie the entire icon together and give it that finished, polished look.
Favorite: - I love the crop, with the contrast between blurry and sharp and the composition is very clever with the image and the font framing the center. - Interesting composition, with the crop to the left and cut off while the text is doing the same thing on the right. It really highlights the tension also present in the cap/scene. Lovely coloring as well! - I love the crop and the way you balanced it with the text while at the same time keeping it minimalistic and bare to go with the scene and cap themselves.
Comments - Fabulous composition, the way the icon is framed by Sam on one side and the text on the other works really well.
Least Favorite: - I don't think the reddish/pinkish tint works well with the image. The crop is powerful though!
Comment -If I had a second vote it would go to 7 because it's pretty much a tie. -I actually love the coloring in this icon, and the expanded background of the cap. I think that mixed with the lighting, the crop is very powerful. You can see the glass shatter clearly but nothing overpowers, making for a nice, cohesive icon.
