Who the hell told you that crap? Honestly? If it was me, you have just earned yourself a slap, anywhere, anytime as hard as you can muster. If it wan not me then it was most likely a girl, and listening to a girl about relationship advice(when you are not a girl) is like asking a hobo for financial advice. They will give it you, you just don't want it.

What they mean to say (at least I hope) is...

1) That none of it is easy; its not like everyone, or even anyone you have meet till now, is the/a person that you can spend the rest of your life with. However it is the case that being happy with someone, and making them happy, is generally harder then finding someone.

2) Everyone has someone they _want_ to be working on is the right wording. Be it a pretty girl at class, a regular customer at your place of work, a friend of a friend, etc. But working on someone mean you are courting (yeah old time-y terms rock) someone, not making sure they know your name and are your facebook friend; which is where most people are.

luck mang.

lol. they're quotes from books, movies, stories of some sort.

no need to get all riled up. i like the hobo metaphor though.
and you've extrapolated the intended meaning of the quotes all on your own.

easy old man, easy.

omfg. this past weekend i saw some dressed-up people at santana row, and one particular couple was wearing matching outfits, right, which doesn't sound at all bad until you've seen an actual man in an actual lavender tux.
[i kinda wish i'd looked at his shoes, because i can no more think of a color that would go with a lavender tux than i can envision actual lavender shoes]

The other night Margaret and I saw two men at Safeway wearing matching Aloha shirts and shorts and sandals. Does that count?
