I know I haven't updated in at least a year, but I'm still here!  More entries to come soon, people!

Ahhh!  I'm surrounded by rejection and/or the FEAR of rejection.  After spending two hours applying for jobs, I cleaned out my mail email account, and probably deleted twenty plus "thanks but no thanks" messages from companies.  I've applied for so many jobs and almost never get a call for even an interview, it's just frustrating!  I'm also re- ( Read more... )

1.  It's late, but I wanted to gt in a quick update.  Christmas is over.  It's always so short.  There's this huge build up and then you usually get a normal day that doesn't meet up to the two plus months of rose-colored expectations.  Most of the things I wanted weren't monetary.  And Santa don't bring that stuff in his sleigh ( Read more... )

 I went Christmas shopping.  With my mother.  I'm not sure why I decided to do such a terrible thing.  It's all the songs about family togetherness and the constant snow we've been getting.  It's that damn Christmas mood I've been in since I saw "This Christmas" and made a fabulous Thanksgiving dinner.  Damn you, scrumptious dressing!

I got another rejection letter today.  It's my third one.  Looking on the brightside, I've been waiting on this letter for a month, so it's nice to finally get it.  (On the realistic side, rejection sucks)  Searching for a literary agent is very much like applying to college.  I saw my envelope in the mailbox and I was praying, "please be thick, ( Read more... )

 I got a little Christmas-y up in this piece!  December 1st of last year, we had a huge blizzard hit my town.  It was amazing, because I got a snow day.  We got about seven inches of snow in one day.  I was also introduced to something called SNOW THUNDER.  I never knew that was possible.  This year--on December 1st--we were hit with yet antoher ( Read more... )

My Turkey Day was fantastic.  My mother balked about not having a turkey, and said sh wanted rib eyes and mashed potatoes, which is NOT Thanksgiving food.  I wasn't too happy about it, but luckily, rib eyes and all other non-turkey meat was marked up when we went to grocery shopping, and we ended up getting a turkey for $4!  I'm not exactly a ( Read more... )

 
It’s been quite awhile since I posted in my LJ.  It’s not that I haven’t forgotten about my journal.  Life just gets away from you sometimes, I guess.  In past year quite a few things have happened, some for the best, some not so much.

Phew.  I'm tired.  It's been a crazy few days.

*My turned 50 this year and with the "Over the Hill" jokes and huge birthday party, comes a colonoscopy.  (FYI:  Doctors stick a scope up your bum to check for colon polyps and signs of colon cancer) It's a routine screening for 50 year-olds.  I took the day off to take my mom to the screening and wow ( Read more... )
