Thanks very much for the birthday wishes. They've been very much appreciated! I had a nice birthday with my friends in Basel - except they managed to come down with a nasty stomach bug toward the end of my stay ... and I managed to pick up on Wednesday and today. Bleurgh. Feeling a bit woozy and weak - but it's a memorable way to bring in my ( Read more... )

It was definitely nice and fairly entertaining. Peaceful, too, somehow :)

Basel was such a pretty town. I guess because all the buildings have been kept in that state for many hundreds of years - and they've been kept up as well.
Old shit is fo shizzle :)
I hope you had a wonderful day too :)

Welcome back! And you brought pictures of colourful buildings! Cool!

I was a bit surprised by the Mercury Prize awards, too. Not that I really had any idea who would win. *g* And agreed on Amy Winehouse. I heard about all the bad tabloidy stuff before I actually heard her music, and that just spoiled it for me. Too bad.

I hope you feel better soon. And a belated Happy Birthday to you as well! :)

Heee, love your icon :)
Glad you liked the photos!
From watching some of the show, I really like The Young Knives too now. I'd seen some of them at Reading and they're very spiky and very uncool in a cool way. Heh. It's a shame you hadn't heard of Amy Winehouse before all this tabloid hoo-haa. I first got into her with her 1st album "Frank" which I still really like; but even I find it hard these days to like her as much as I used to. It's really a shame. Lily Allen is going down the same road...
Thanks for the good wishes and birthday greetings too :)

Those are some really lovely shots, especially of the Town Hall. Thanks for sharing!

And I'm glad you had a shiny birthday, aside from the bug. Hope you feel less woozy and weak now!

Dr McCabe :)
I'm glad that you liked the photos. It was a really pictureseque town - if you're ever in the area ;)
I'm feeling a bit better now ... only the stomach bug is turning into the flu so it's a bit bleurgh at the moment. Oh well. At least it's the weekend :)
