Handedness poll

I'm right-handed. I use my right-hand to do most things that require skill or involve reaching, except when I drive I always use my left hand to hold the wheel, regardless of the side of the road I'm driving. So I'm curious - what's your "degree" of handedness?

Haven't voted because I've never held chopsticks or drove, so...
I'm right handed when it comes to writing and left handed with everything else. When school started, i was 'encouraged' to use my right hand, but no one bothered with the other daily stuff, so i just get the funny look when I uncap a bottle or switch my fork and knife during meals.

I think left handed Draco is a bit more appealing to me... so there! he's left handed. And maybe secretly trying to be ambidextrous, just to show Potter he can do that, too ;)

Yeah. That reminds me of something I've read somewhere - about school in Taiwan encouraging kids to write with their right hand, because the composition of Chinese characters cannot be neatly written with left hands. I hope you didn't have a hard time at school dealing with those funny looks daily.

I voted left-handed!Draco, too, with the same reason as yours. I think it's highly believable that he'd try to be ambidextrous just to be one up on Harry. :-)

One that I would have added would have been what hand do you throw with, and what hand do you catch with? I would have said left to both (despite being a righty). lol

Yeah I should have added the questions you suggested. I thought about adding questions like the hand you use to play various sports, but I left them out because being a sport illiterate, I didn't quite know if questions like which hand do you use to hold a tennis racket or a basketball are relevant.

It's interesting how most people here think Draco as a left-handed. Well, I always knew Harry was right-handed, since it's mentioned in PS - likely said above.

But I think Draco's ambidextrous. Dunno why. I just think he is.

Which might be one reason why lefties are said to be more creative - they have to adapt/modify what's there for them to suit their needs. :-)

I would say Neville is left-handed.
Ah. I never really thought about Neville being left-handed but now that you've mentioned, it makes sense!

I do most everything with my right hand. But oddly a few things with my left only. Like dealing cards, I can only deal with my left hand. Also using the computer mouse, it has to be with my left hand, because my right shoulder and arm get terribly cramped to the point of the muscles stiffening so I can't move them.

I should have included questions on computer mice and about using which hand to reach for objects. But yeah, it's interesting to see many of us are not strictly left/right-handed.
