me too. F**king Baby Boomers got to do exactly what they wanted with their revolutions and now they have grown up to be control freaks with their classroom attendence policies at colleges to their invetion of ADHDKQUL where they just tranquilize the kids because they are too busy working to make all that money to have the "American Dream" that is killing our economy and our environment.

OK so everything isn't their falt but...

Sooo happy to see that some people understand kids. They aren't made to be scheduled so much...where is the time to day dream, figure out how to create that magical kid kind of fun instead of being "bored" because they are so used to "following" orders. I'm old , two grown children ( one in college the other graduated college )we home schooled and it was so they could be free , meet and interact with people of many ages and situations.
It was 90 % wonderful, but taking that road has repercussions later just like any thing I guess. There's the feeling for them that they may have missed out on alot. who knows , you do the best you can and there you go!

Hi anonymous lj person!

Since things suddenly got a lot less hypothetical over here, it seems that I'm going to get to try out some of my child-rearing theories instead of soap-boxing about them when my hormones get out of whack. Sooo...if you don't mind sharing, I've got a couple of questions for you.

1) Did you homeschool exclusively? I'm leaning toward just doing it for the difficulty-sitting-still years, but I dread the idea of tossing a child in with the middleschool sharks. Though I also don't like the idea of my child resenting me for all eternity because he didn't get to make out at the prom.

2) Did you live in Indiana? (Or, uh, the U.S. for that matter...) And if so, did you have issues with law-giving types? I've heard it's becoming quite a bit more difficult to get approval for this sort of thing.
