Thanks! I kinda wanted to do it because it scared me, ya know? I mean, running out into traffic scares me too. But a piercing is a bit less dangerous....;-)

Why did you take yours out? I'll post pics after the swelling goes down....and once she shortens the bar. It sticks out pretty far right now.

Curious.. doesn't it affect your bottom teeth, where it's placed? Like the post will keep whacking up against them until they crumble?

That was my biggest concern! Actually it is hitting them right now because of the swelling. But I had her pierce it really low, and after the swelling goes down, she'll put in a shorter bar and a much smaller back (the disk part that goes on the inside). So once that is done, it'll be way below my gum line. Right now the swelling is so bad that if I open my mouth or try to chew my bottom teeth get caught UNDER the back part and tug on it. I haven't eaten since yesterday afternoon and I'm ready to kill someone. Must pick up some yogurt and pudding today.

LOL, I swear it's just because my lips are so big already. Somebody with chicken lips would have no problem at all. Not that YOU have chicken lips, but you know what I'm saying.

yay!!!!! Can't wait for pictures!!!! I've contemplated labret, but I like to keep piercings hidden cause of work, so alas, no go.

I thought about taking pics today, even though it's still swollen. But after spending some time at the dentist, it's all red and puffy and I look all haggard. Blech. Maybe tomorrow.

Didn't it hurt even worse going to the dentist with a new piercing!??

Actually it wasn't bad. He was really careful with it. And my lip itself isn't sore, just the actual hole. He just steered clear of it and it was fine. And he wasn't as horrified as I thought he'd be. He said that once it heals up and the back is replaced with a smaller one, it won't rub on my teeth at all. He said he'd prefer I didn't have it (I think that was the mormonism talking) but that the piercer did a good job with the placement.
