There's lots. LCC has the best program there is, with all its add ons and stuff, and everything else you need. Unfortunately, all the good ones require extra hardware, and thats where it gets expensive.

Fruit Loops should be relatively easy to acquire, and doesn't require all the other stuff.

I know of a program called "garage band" that people seem to like at my school. Not sure if it's only made for macs, but i don't think so. have fun!
