Hold your horses.

So, a lot has happened in the past couple of days. I realised that it wasn't fair that I had to sit in a library, alone, teaching myself things I would be able to learn back home. I also realised I wasn't willing to go to classes where the curriculum would be the level of a third graders (if you think I'm exaggerating, I'm not. It's absurd.) So, I' ( Read more... )

Of course we're still proud of you. It takes courage to change horses mid-stream because you realized something important. Don't worry about what people think. Trust your gut. We love you.

Don't worry Ramona. I will always be proud of you. It's not what we do or don't do that matters really, it's who you are that counts, your mind and character and heart. I'm proud of you for having the guts to go and for having the guts to stand up and make a big change in the middle of it because you know what you want really want. tap your heels three times and soon it will be like a strange trip that brought you a long way back to home. And It is far far better than some fool like Bush who gets into a damn mess and then finds out the information which led to the mess was wrong - only to then insist that he must "stay the course" But like Emerson wrote in "self reliance" , i paraphrase, but i like his point that a foolish consistancy is the hobgoblin of little minds. You have a great mind and your friends and family know it. When you return let the hobgoblins chatter their twitter chirps and count their worms and get fat on gossip since they have no life except to critize those who have the guts to step into the ring and take a ( ... )

How could we not be proud of you?
It's not everyday that a 16 y.o. can decide what she wants out of life and what she has to do to get it. That's you.......
There are grown ups who don't know what they want out of life or they're to afraid to take the steps that will get them what they want. This is not a set back only a change in the direction to get what is important to you and I don't remember that you EVER cared what others say or think about you. Remember this........they can't even stand in your shadow. I can hardly wait to see and hold you in my arms. Love, your Dad

Hey Ramona,
C'est Alex et Wesley dans chez wesley. J'adore toi, et je suis tres content parce que tu as decide venir fairfax virginia. Okay, enough French. Ramona, I am so glad that you're coming back, and want you to know how proud I am of you. The foreign service life is unpredictable,(more so than a menopausal womans moods...), and I have to give you a round for trying thailand out. You're still my hero, but I know you're only coming back so you can have some more of my art and stenciled tee shirts, so I want you to know I know the real reason. You just wanted that damn john Lennon shirt and nabokov mural. Haha, butseriously, I'll give you one. I LOVE YOU MORE THAN LIFE...and George Clooney...well maybe not clooney, but still.
LURRRVVVE YOU<-(In the words of woody allen)

Still proud? Are you nuts? There are no words to describe how much respect I have for you. Sure, people will be like "I knew she couldn't do it." But they're just cowards who could never hope to get as far as you have. You took a risk that very few people would even consider! You got there and it's not like you chickened out, it just wasn't for you and there is absolutely nothing wrong with that. There is no reason to look down on yourself, you should be proud you got as far as you did. Ramona, you've always been someone I've looked up to, and that will never change. (it's my dad who's going to take some convincing ;) )
Love ALWAYS!!!!
The Tegan to your Sara, Paul to your John, your forever loyal groupie,
Wes.
