Well, I finished editing my book on climate change this past week, and I've been dead to the world lately when I'm not working, it seems. I'm finally feeling less sleep-deprived. However, it's gotten cold here (for us), and man, do I feel lethargic in cold weather. I can seriously go to bed at 9:00 at night when it's cold and not get up in the ( Read more... )

"Call the Midwife" is a good program, and I can see where there could be a lot of plot bunnies, especially for Frodo m-preg lovers. :D

I hear ya about the cold and being lethargic. I think being dark for so long makes it worse, too. I don't want to wish my life away, but I already can't wait for spring. *sighs*

You did an amazing job on those doll clothes! Seems as if your talents extend beyond photography. I'm looking forward to seeing the Christmas outfits.

I've seen two episodes so far and really enjoyed them---almost as much as Downton Abbey.

Thank you for the compliment---you can't look too closely at the clothes, though... they have a lot of flaws!!!

I averted my eyes from the killer dolls, *shudder shudder* and looked at the clothes -- wow, you're good at the making of clothes! I have a friend here in town who does that (and she also creates new hair for barbie dolls, like creating extra long mermaid hair in the color blue or green! ;D).

I so have Call the Midwife on my Netflix queue!!!! ;D

But nothing has given me as huge a bunny as that Lifetime movie I watched earlier this fall! ALas, I haven't worked on the fic in awhile, but I am going to get back to it, now that I seem to be finally writing again regularly!

Oh, my adorable Grumpies... defined as killer dolls... lol. That's so funny. I enjoy making the clothes because I am trying to stick to the Edwardian style, and the research is a lot of fun. I love the 1912 fashions...

I was thinking you had seen Call the Midwife? At any rate, it's a great show, and very realistic... gritty realistic. I really like the characters, too.

What Lifetime movie was that? Do tell!

Ahhh! I *love* these dolls, and kudos to you for taking such care to make their clothes as well as you did. Good luck on attempting the wee shoes. I have a cabinet full of old dolls, although not as awesome as yours, and I bought several books about dolls in an attempt to repair/restore them myself. I have to restring several of them, and just that is stalling me.

I've been sleeping more than usual too, and I thought it was because the daylight hours are getting shorter. I saw on the news that it's been much colder than normal in large swathes of the country.

I would love to see pics of your dolls! I love old dolls of every kind and have since I was very little... and I'd love to see your repair photos, too.

It's not as cold here now, this week, and I'm now missing the cold. We're a fickle lot, we humans.

Thank you for the compliment on the doll clothes---I could be more strict and use antique fabrics, etc., but those cost about $30-$40 for a piece the right size for a doll outfit, and that's way, way beyond my budget. I'm also attempting my sewing skills on bed linens, so we'll see how that goes.
