What. The. Fuck?

Why was a teacher (man) allowed to threaten a principal (woman) and then was allowed to stay on the job? If he was so ill, why wasn't he given medical leave? Why should the principal, the students and the parents have to put up with a stressful situation that is not condusive to learning at all? I would be interested to hear who came up with the guard idea, the teachers union?

Mr. Grider was absent from the school from before Christmas break until Jan. 22nd. I think that was the 'medical leave', but still parents were not given any info then either why our children were being taught by only substitutes for over a month. It has had repercussion on their education. It's nearly the end of the month and a report card has still not been sent out when it was dues the beginning of Feb.

I've never had a problem with the teacher. I'm not sure how I feel now, of course, with this new information, but my main gripe is still with the school and the school board for their callous treatment of parents concerns.

"We can't tell you anything about why there is an armed guard outside your daughter's classroom." Yeah, I and others were just sooo ready to accept that like good little sheep.

I don't want to see the teacher hounded, really I don't, especially since we still don't know what 'threat' was made. I'm after the school board and everyone who thought parents had no right to the facts needed to make informed decision about our children's safety.

That's just nuts! I can't believe that they just expected the parents to roll over and accept that this was happening and not want to know exactly what was going on. And I must say go you for smaking on that !?*hole of a commentor on the news post as well.

Every phone call I made was met with the same answer, "we can't tell you." Yeah, that went over well. I also called the school board and was finally told to leave my name and number and Dr. Leitner, the author of the misleading letter that both outright lied and omitted key facts, would call me back. Never happened.

That b.s. letter stirred up as much alarm as did finding out there was a police officer shadowing my daughter's teacher.

Honestly, since we still don't know what 'threat' was made...I'm not sure how I feel about that. My main issue is that facts were kept from us, the parents, and our concerns were met with 'can't tell you anything'. That's a very callous way to treat concerned parents.
