Fright Props is moving...to Florida. This means that Kathleen and I have to decide if we want to move to Florida...in three months. We would be living in a town called Clearwater on the gulf coast. Here's my major list of pros and cons so far ( Read more... )

What?! Why Florida? Who knew all those retirees loved wicked gore so much?! That is weird. Still, sounds like a pretty cool opportunity/totally bonkers change. But... but... Boxing? D&D? Snow? Frenz?

Yeah, it's crazy. My boss, Doug's, family is in FL as is the Scientology world headquarters, which is why he is moving there. He also is having a hard time being here and seeing his ex wife all the time. It's definitely a tough decision!

I know! I hate hottness. That would seriously be the worst part for me, other than being so far away from my mom and dad. Apparently the area we are in does not get hurricanes...although I find that claim to be dubious. My boss is moving there to be closer to his family and get out of a MN funk. I don't mind cockroaches. Any insect that doesn't bite humans is welcome to live amongst me in peace and harmony.

hmnn... well do you get to visit first? hopefully you can check it out before having to make a decision. your job fucking rules, and I WANT IT... so if you don't move down there for it, maybe I'll just have to take your position

I hope the world is ready for my SWEET horror props!

I'd possibly give any... ANY limb to be in the position of having to choose between living here in Scotland or moving to Florida.

DO EET! as you said, you can always move back if it sucks too hard. x

Duuuuuude, don't do it. You don't even get health insurance or retirement benefits with this job! It's not worth it! Would he pay for your moving expenses? Think about how much it would cost to constantly fly back here for visits, which you know you would want to do. What about buying your parents' house? I can't believe you would even consider this! You're the one who's always so anti-moving! Also, Florida is beyond hot. It's not just hot, it's sticky and wet constantly. Trust me -- I've been there. It's also full of old people and the kinds of overly tanned bros and hos who hang out in the warehouse district. You would hate Florida.

That said, I'm only trying to talk you out of it for selfish reasons. If you really think it's a good opportunity, then take it.

Also, Cory was deeply saddened to hear about this. You're his favorite person here. Probably more favorite than me. No one else can match his nerdiness.

Yeah, I still have to talk to Doug about possible incentives he could offer such as moving expenses, benefits, or a raise. I am always anti-moving, but more anti moving for moving's sake. I have always said if you have to move then move. Obviously we would miss you guys a lot, but now that Cory has an Xbox we could be virtual internet game nerd pals all day! I have been to Florida a few times myself and it pretty much is hell on earth...hot stickiness, saggy vegetation, weird quasi southerners...but then again...SHAMU!
