Last night was really awesome. Neil, Emmy, and myself went to a Jonathan Coulton and Paul and Storm show. If you haven't heard of any of them I strongly suggest you check them out, because they rule. They're hilarious and write the catchiest songs ever ( Read more... )

Funny, I was in Northampton yesterday too. Not at the concert, unfortunately, but yeah.

Indeed. I've noticed that they have special "silly hats only" parking spots. If your car doesn't have a silly hat, your car is towed and the Freemasons come and take you off to their dungeon. Plus you can get a parking ticket for parking on the Smith campus if you're not a lesbian. Also, if you kill the mayor, you become the mayor. (Look it up -- it's right there in the town charter. Or, as they call it, the "darn chowder".)

Oh, and I frequently pass a place that claims to provide psychic readings. Ohohoho! Zany.

What a treat to see these videos! It sounds like you had a wonderful evening.

My favorite Coulton song (in my limited Coulton palette) is "Still Alive," and he'll never be able to perform it as well as the recorded version. But he wrote it, it fits the game and character so well, and it's a criminally catchy song - so much so that first everyone loved it, and now they hate it. I think it'd be fun to watch him perform that live too.

Oh wait, so which songs did they play, that you can recall?

"'Hi I'm Harry Potter the puppet! I live at... I live at Hogwarts with my best friend Ron Weasly.'
'I have red hair and I come from a very poor family.'
'Hello children- what are you doing?'
'We're talking on a muggle telephone, Professor Dumbledore.'
'Oh get that nonsense out of my school! I'll have none of it. Well, ok, ok, yeah.'"
