Joan Crawford always scared the piss out of me, even in Whatever Happened to Baby Jane, where you're SUPPOSED to feel sorry for her. (great movie, though)

I loved the miniseries.

I can give you another example of the movie being better than the book. Forrest Gump. One of my favorite movies. The book is HORRIBLE.

My dad loved the movie Jaws, so I saw it a lot growing up. It was good. From your description it sounds like I haven't missed out not having read the book.

Good luck with the web design!

I totally agree with you, re books vs. movies (though I never read Peter Benchley's "Jaws"). The biggest example of 2023 is Killers of the Flower Moon: AMAZING book, one of the best I've ever read. As for the movie, there's no way it needed to be over 3 and a half hours long, and the only thing that saves it is that the book tells such a great story.
