When I read "Alive" I open the comment box so I can jot down thoughts as I read along, so I don't forget because there are so many memorable parts. I just comment in the moment unsuspecting like:
-- Beautifully, haunting detail: "Underneath those blankets were legs that were as fragile as sticks, lungs that were running out of breath, and arms becoming too weak and uncomfortable to even fold cranes or write. Skin and bones were all that were left to show." AND -- The dynamic between T&J is organically written and developed at a nice pace. That dream scene about what life might've been like if J were healthy was so touching and so realistic to what people really experience when it comes to these situations (and more) ALSO -- The tie ins to the lore again and all the presented arcs and the planted small details are aweosme. AND THEN -- BOOM! That last scene and that last line. Right in the heart.
Thank you anon for the kind messages. I'm happy those lines/scenes in particular struck out to you. I figured that Taeyeon would be a curious one and start to think of what a healthy Jessica would entail. I mean, we all got a little curious, right? :') I'm glad the small details did not go unnoticed. I really like to focus on the little things. Thank you for reading!
