I've seen a lot of drawings of Snape since I've begun to lurk in the fandom, but only one made me think "yes, this is Snape as I imagine him". It is the one by Riikka Jäntti at the Lexicon.

MMM I was looking at Alice as a basis for Snapey drawings the other day. I thought he'd do nicely

I came across a perfect young snape at a family wedding a couple of months ago and spent it stalking him to get his picture. I did and then dad deleted it from the digital camera because he didn't know who he was. Fortunately he was in the commercial photos and was able to nab one. He's turned out quite well

It is nice to know that I'm not alone to think that Alice would do a fine Snape. The consensus about Rickman as perfect for the role didn't let me think that I would find many persons to agree.

I'm very curious about your young man though... You'll make drawings of him as Snape?

I have done, in a cheating way that involves photoshop. I keep meaning to put them up somewhere.

I like the picture by Riikka :))) But I have to disagree with you I think Snape here is quite handsome, although he has beaky nose and he's scowling/brooding/whatever-he's-doing. Well, maybe I just like ugly-handsome men ;) I've seen so many fanart Snapes that I really can't decide which one is my favourite. Snape in his 40s-50s by aleoninc along with Remus - I just love their faces - caricatural, true, but I love them :). I wouldn't say handsome for Riikka's drawing, but he has something. To me, it is a very good and believable representation of Snape and this, in itself, is very attactive. I like the character and prefer to see a sensible attempt to show his features as described, not some romantical idealisation. I've had a look at the drawings of aleoninc and, yes, they are nice, really. Caricatural but very attractive ( ... )
