I don't know how you make your words so beautiful. I mean, it's set in a circus but it's far from crack at all, like you were saying, and it's utterly gorgeous.
The relationships between everyone and the characterizations were beautifully done. That you could stay true to them while placing them in such a different setting was awesome. I really liked the interactions between Arthur and Eames, how you truly showed they're best when they're together, how deeply they're attached to each other. The scene with the letters and the one in the car made my heart clench because they were kasuhgl ugh I have no words, okay? Every time you described them, the way they were together, how much they could accomplish, how respected and passionate and attuned they were, I had to hold my breath.
And Ariadne, you handled her perfectly, and Robert, and mostly just like how do you write such fics? Thank you for writing, it was wonderful.
too many ~~feelings right now. :((( another amazing fic from you! i loved the different POVs, especially philippa, who didn't fall into the common fanfic trap of child characters that seem too precocious. ariadne's curiosity was so charmingly awkward! and the descriptions of the way arthur & eames interact with one another and match each other so perfectly were just wonderful. the way you illustrate the balanced and adult partnership they have together is so evocative. this fic makes me want to read original fic by you because your writing style is so beautiful. :)
Thanks so much! glad you liked the Phillipa characterisation, because as you pointed out, kids can end up too adult, or go wrong in the other direction. (reading things written in a baby-voice is the bane of my exwisthance). Also glad you liked A/E interaction, 'cause though they are the main pairing, they weren't really the point, so it was kind of a weird thing to write. xx
oh my god that was beautiful IT WAS EVERYTHING THAT I LIKED and arthur and eames were so sweet with each other and and and THE DREAM CIRCUS WAS A SUCCESS! and I was just so happy while I was reading this thank you!
