Proms in the Park- Rain stops play. :(

So- after I've spent months anticipating the first ever Proms in the Park from Caerphilly, a torrential downpour just before the programme got started at 7:30 meant it had to be called off. :(

It certainly was. Of course the following evening was fine and dry, just to rub it in, lol!

I'm sorry it poured! I listened to the Proms in London yesterday on the radio; it sounded like a fabulously enjoyable event. I guess it wouldn't have mattered if it poured there, where it was indoors. Next year, Lindenella, maybe next year. :)

Thanks Mechtild. I hope the organisers decide to try again in Caerphilly next year and not go back to Swansea with it. A lot of tickets were sold so hopefully they'll give us another chance. Last year we had some gorgeous weather in September.

Oof, how disappointing. Outdoor concerts are always a gamble. But at least it was merely washed out - last month in my town a storm at an outdoor concert killed seven people and injured dozens. Safety is better!

That certainly puts things in perspective, Rama. I cant complain any more after hearing that. You're right, safety is better.

So sorry you had to go home disappointed! I can't think of a more beautiful setting for concert. Weather has an annoying way of just doing its thing without inquiring beforehand. :((
