I've spent the last hour and a half finally researching med school and the MCATs and med school admissions, of which I only had a really general knowledge from my meeting with the head of the pre-med committee. i don't want to bring you down or anything. please please please don't see this post as that, but my brother is becoming a D.O. and he's going to PCOM. he told me that yes, osteopathy started out as preventative medicine, but in a clinical setting M.D. and D.O. are the same. and patients are generally turned off by D.O. because they think it's not as good as M.D.

by the way, i also want to go into ob/gyn ;)

Yea the articles said basically the same thing but I like the whole med school aspect of osteopathy and private practice isn't going to be the full extent of my work anyway; I want to spend about half of my regular work week doing Planned Parenthood stuff so a D.O. would be pretty much perfect considering what most of PPhood stuff entails.
