I should probably mention that due to a series of unfortunate events, none of which would make a particularly engaging Jim Carrey vehicle, my time off for Anthrocon was pulled out from under me, and I will not be attending this weekend. well seeing as how i wont be attending ac either, we should do coffee or something and make fun of everyone who had to drive so far to meet up with friends they havent seen in a while.

what say you? i work til 7pm in the burbs on saturday night. and friday night i am debating heading to grant park to see the fireworks.

whats your schedule like?

Hey, sorry about the late reply-- I've kind of been in flux since I'm waiting to find out how late I'll have work obligations tonight. Still not sure when/if I'll be free. Are you heading in to the city?

I'm with Lucky, also stuck in town for the wknd. But don't do Grant Pk. Too crowded. Come to rogers pk and watch from the breakwater.

Doing fireworks somewhere? we're still trying to find a location. I do have to say I was looking forward to observation deck + 4th of july but.. the virgin islands were cheaper than a con... just think about that.

I haven't really planned anything, since I'm not sure how late I'll be working tonight. Have you guys settled on a location?

As for non-con fun, I've been there. I cancelled plans to go to FC a few years back when it turned out I could go to Rome that weekend for less. o.O

We haven't really decided anything yet.. we should contact RC's group and see where they're planning if anything.

The plan seems to be Ribfest in Naperville. Not sure where you work exactly but we're assuming this is a better bet to get some people out than somewhere in out backwood.

Free admission after 7pm. Fireworks 9:30pm. WAR from 7:30 to 9pm.

It's a full weekend for us, since we're all busy not attending Convergence too. :)
