Irrelevant to just about everyone who wasn't playing Malarkey at duncandahusky and takaza's on Sunday evening:

After all, the name of the game is "malarkey".

I'd heard the Joe Hep story before in connection with the HEP (High Energy Physics) groups at a couple of physics departments. It shows that physicists are just as prone to disinfo as others.

Oh, and after checking coconut oil has about 8% unsaturated fat content. We'd harden it by hydrogenation in some cases to reduce that even more.

In fairness to both the makers of Malarkey and the High Energy Physics Cats, Cecil just says that the bartender theory doesn't sound all that plausible to him, and they differ a little in the specifics. The game may be right, it just generally seems to present it's answers with more certainty than seems warranted. :)

Half the game's about how easily you can charm and lie to your friends, while the other half turns into a poker game of reading bluffs. Though if there were a pie break every time I played that game, I wouldn't care if I had the correct answer or not. :9

Indeed. The pie break was a high point of the game. Both the pecan pie and the buttermilk pie were wonderful!
