"new" car

I bought a car yesterday. It's a 1989 Volvo 240 DL, and I got it (of course) in Ballard. I need to take it into the shop for a checkup and fluid change on Monday, so I'm not driving it until then. 153,000... which is only just middle-aged for a Volvo. We don't use AC in Seattle, but the car does have seat warmers (probably not just hot air...). I'm making sure that I don't drive frivolously, using it for things I need to do but wouldn't have time to do without the car. For everything else, I have a bus pass and my feet. I need to get myself a car-first-aid kit, too: some jumper cables, the owner's manual, a flashlight, etc.

I got gas today (so it'll be ready for the shop tomorrow), and I was a little scared with prices looming around $3.60, but I put in about 3/4 of a tank for $20. Not great, but not as bad as I thought it would be. No I just have to see how long that tank will last me...
