Great post! :-) I too am disturbed by the trend of thin-ness as ideal, as it seems to lately be getting more and more ridiculous. Do you know they've even thinned down cartoon characters from our 80's childhoods? No wonder so many young girls are developing eating disorders, as they're being taught to hate their bodies that don't look like the "ideal" so early in life.

It's as if normal, healthy people can't possibly come in more than one shape or size, and I call bullshit on that. Even being "thin" isn't enough anymore, as models wearing size 4 are being told they are too fat? Bullshit. That is some seriously fucked up bullshit. I can only wish that the modeling industry were more about displaying true beauty and less about judging people's bodies as acceptable or not acceptable. I think as a culture that's the mindset we really have to watch out for, the judging of other's bodies as though it's any of our business how large/small/fat/thin someone is. Bottom line, we are all human beings deserving of respect.
