I can tell you firsthand that the police force don't give an icecube's chance at survivin' Hell about the whole lot of you- James is a decent enough guy, but he doesn't know shit about how to deal with wanderers and his fuckin' wanderer-specific lock-up is about as a big a joke as they come. It can be made better though. It just needs a good kick in the ass in the right direction, and no one's even tried, because no one seems to give a damn that you people have rights too.

Now I'm just an archangel and we ain't had the best of track records with wanderers in the past, and this ain't my fight anyway, but I got people, contacts. If there's some chance you guys ain't gonna get too far, we could do whatever we can to get you a step further. You can tell me to fuck off, if you want. I won't hold it against you. But if you need a local hand to give you a push, my kids and I are here.

Good to know where the situation stands with the local coppers -- can't blame them too much. No one gets trained for how to deal with things like this, and most coppers I've met tend to stick with what they know. The best don't, but that would be why they're the best in the first place.

Point is, you seem a decent enough sort. I haven't had the warmest of regard for you winged bastards in the past, but I'll take what help I can get, so long as no one's trying to kill my friend DI Sam.

Right, then. Good to have you on board. I'll want a breakdown of who's on your team and what they can do, and we'll work out what's best to do with them. 'We', because if you know what you're doing with them, you're better suited than I am to sort out how they work, and I've got no desire to stick my nose into a team that's already at their best. But someone's got to be the at the centre of all this, and I don't see anyone else standing up to do this.

Any problems with that?

Yeah, and I turn into a bloody great lion, which also adds to a quick and easy interrogation, but let's keep this as by-the-book as possible for the time being. I've got one of the fluffy-winged bastards that might be able to get some strings pulled for us regarding official channels.

If that dries up, then we'll start pulling from the bag of tricks, all right?
