First read Catcher in the Rye then read the Unbearable Lightness of Being.

They have nothing to do with each other but the first deals with what (i guess) is about life before your 20's. And the latter picks up from there. But I do have to warn you the latter is vulgar and ...how do you put this...realistic. But once you read both you'll understand...
