I'm still in North Carolina, but am going home tomorrow. This makes me sad. :( However, I'll be able to catch up with reading my f-list and hopefully working on editing my pictures! I took significantly less this time - not because there was nothing to photograph, but I'm trying to be a little more deliberate with my photos. It gets tiresome to ( Read more... )

Love that bird shot. How cool that someone bought your prints!!! That's exciting!

Thanks! I am so excited about it, I've never sold anything before! (Well, that's not entirely true I guess, I sold a print to a friend of mine right before Christmas, but I guess I more just mean anonymously/to a stranger) It's very encouraging :)

Definitely love the first one. That is amazing and I'd totally get a print of it for my bathroom (which has a nautical theme).

Aw thanks :) I think this one is up there in my top 5, I am just so happy it turned out and was not a waste of time.

Yay for nautical bathrooms - mine is all decked out with lighthouses and seashells, haha. My boyfriend teases me about how much I like lighthouses :P

Thank you! I have visited these lighthouses so many times, it got old to take the same ol' daytime shots/POV... it's been fun getting a little creative hehe

Congrats on the print sale, that is very cool! I have a few repeat family portrait customers, and if we meet at their homes I always get a kick out of seeing my shots on the wall. It is a nice feeling!

Hmm.. I think I prefer the color version of the lighthouse shot--the star trails just look more awesome in color. :) The stairs too--the color one is practically monochromatic anyway, but the little bit of color there is adds a nice touch, I think. Great work, anyway!

Thanks! It is very exciting!! I got another e-mail last night that I sold even 2 more... wow! Other than one friend who bought a print at Christmas, this is the first time I've ever sold anything and boy does it feel good :)

I agree... I just feel like the color version speaks louder (though I think the b&w version has its place it my life, too). Sometimes its so frustrating to try to pick a version of a shot when its so similar and you like them both!

What site are you using to sell prints, by the way? I'd love to find a well-trafficked site that handles the printing and shipping side of things. :)

It's called Redbubble.com. I'm discovering that the key to getting your stuff seen on it is to join and post to as many different groups (within that groups' rules - a lot of them have a limit per day) as you can. But it really does seem to have a lot of users, and they make it really easy to advertise your profile by providing html banners and hotlinks and stuff... I like it :)
