Wow, I'm really overdue for an update, sorry I neglected it!
Long story short, we've been in the new house for a month and so far we all love it! But I should fill in some of the gaps from the last month and a half or so. :)

Into Limbo!
Well, the good news is that we (finally, hopefully) have a firm plan, and that we get to leave Florida even sooner than expected. Might be an.. interesting month, though.

Grr, Another SNAFU.
The latest in the roller-coaster ride of our relocation! So where was I?
The inspection report actually seemed to came back better than I expected, but since the buyer is a veteran and getting a VA mortgage, there was a list of mostly safety-related things to fix--a few electrical things, stair banister wobbly, that sort of thing. Most of it I ( Read more... ) -

Small Update
Last week's sudden offer did turn into a signed contract, so we're back on track! The buyers accepted our counter-offer, and we had a signed deal Friday morning. They came out that afternoon (apparently they're currently living out of town, but I guess not too far) to see the place in person--we didn't hear anything after that, which is hopefully a ( Read more... ) -

Hello fellow COVID-19 survivors! Been a few weeks, figured I should update with the news, such as it is.
So when last I wrote, we were going under contract to sell this house, and making an offer on a home in Richmond. So buckle up, people.

This Year, Whew Brother.
Man, I really hoped 2020 was going to be a much-improved year on many fronts. Obviously.. notsomuch. Sheesh.
But the effort to relocate continues, and isn't going too poorly! When I last updated, we had a couple of offers on the house, and neither one ended up working out. One was a lowball offer with some special financing that presented too many ( Read more... ) -
I picked the wrong year to stop sniffing glue.
I mean, wow, right? It's been a pretty crazy couple weeks, on all fronts. Hell of a time to be trying to sell a house and blow up our lives and relocate!
As far as COVID-19 goes, impacts to us haven't been too significant. We've always homeschooled, so school closures don't affect us, though it stinks that all the girls' other activities are on ( Read more... ) -
Further Developments!
Well, I did say the pace should pick up once we go on the market, right? This is still not what I had in mind!
So the house is filled with blower fans and dehumidifiers, and the accompanying steady roar. Frankly the breeze feels kinda nice, though it does make watching television difficult. The leak is fixed, and the walls aren't as torn up as I ( Read more... ) -
