i was not completely impressed with dark knight either. i hated the pencil part. but the tongue thing he did was like a tic. i thought it added to the character. it showed he was always very aware of his mouth and therefore scar. shrugs. i thought he did a good job. but the movie was way overhyped. to have beat out lord of the rings is pretty ridiculous. and also, what the crap is up with batman's voice. towards the end it was just comical. i hated that part the most. and the watchmen trailer said it was the most celebrated comic of all time...yet i have never heard of it. so i dont know. not that im this huge comic person. but i figured id have least recognized some part of it. that is all.
Well, I've never heard of the Watchmen either, but apparently it is well known. I read up on the story a bit some I know what to expect, and it seems pretty cool.
I'm ok with the Hollywood obsession with comic book movies. Hopefully video games movies will start getting a fair shake as well. Hollywood has been crazy over worse things in the past, so I won't complain(Rob Schneider comedies, multi-ethic good cop bad cop pairings).
In graphic novel land, the Watchmen is probably the best rated, most raved about and most loved novel ever. The sad thing is that the novel is huge and a chunk of the plot were put in place so that it couldn't be made into a cartoon or movie. Oddly enough, lots of the people that make it so celebrated are really angry that its a movie now.
Personally, it looks amazing so i'll be seeing it like day 1
Kelly Kapowski's right about the tongue thing. I never thought about it like that, but it makes sense. And the pencil scene was fucking AWESOME. Who wouldn't like that??????
Haha, I totally agree about Batman's voice. "I'm not wearing hockey pants." *ultra raspy voice* Semi-dumb. But the movie was fucking awesome and the more I talk about it, the more I want to see it again.
