Sort of.

Am now of the opinion that the reasons given for the war were fictitious and frivolous.

As you'll see if you look back at the Sinner thread on the subject, I said at the time, that if the UN came back and said that there were no weapons of mass destruction, I would not be in favour of the war as it was being promoted.

I do think that Saddam was a scar on the conscience of the world, and he should have been got rid of year ago. And indeed, I would have supported the war on that basis. However, we were told it was to get rid of WMDs.

I can forgive a politician most things, but never for lying to the public and parliament on a issue like this.

The British Constitution depends more than any other upon the persons who are called upon to rule under it. I believe in the advantages of our constitutional system, which is why I will never defend anybody who so mercilessly destroys its very basis- trust and the respect of parliament.

Hmm.

I still support the war in many ways, I just totally disagree with the reasons that were given for us going to war.
