So, the essay I was working on got rejected by the conference at which I hoped to present it. But I am going to finish it anyway -- I think it will be better without the time and length constraints, and it's a subject I want/need to explore.

The governor of Hawaii couldn't remember his Twitter password. That's the kind of politician I want running my state. And country.
Also, what the hell is everyone going to do if the electricity fails for good and all? I'm willing to bet that Hawaii's governor hasn't forgotten the cursive he learned in elementary school...

Willow Tree Inn Entertains New Clientele!
The Willow Tree Inn's installation of its new Rustic Room has been a smashing success. Patrons appreciate the rounded wooden table, the proximity to other facilities, and the range of offerings. While these do not differ from the standard fare, the added privacy seems to facilitate more leisurely meals.

Monday, I pick up the next project -- preparing a paper for presentation at one of the universities to which I am applying. They host a graduate student conference in philosophy, and I have been bold enough to send them an abstract for a potential paper of 3,500 words.

A Tale of Woe and Intrigue!
My in-laws and I do a gift exchange, and this year I got my California in-laws. They are a young-at-heart pair who like to dine out, and in the past Tom and I would hunt around for spots local to them and buy them gift cards. Lessons learned.
You can't always learn from experience... but you can try.
- Finding 1: Small jars really do sell more than large ones. I made 5 cases of small jars, and I have a little more than 1 left. I made seven cases of large jars, and have a bit more than 5 left.
