It really seemed like she'd been avoiding people, and maybe she had. Bert had offered her a few out of town animating jobs, and she'd jumped at the opportunity.

Running from things rather than dealing with them. Maybe a bit too muchof a pattern for her.

One thing there was no way she was going to miss was this though. She'd even flown home rather than driving, something she hated.

But CJ and Ten... One someone she loved, the other.... Likely someone else she loved. Not something she was going to think about now, and not here. She just wanted to wish them both the best.

It wasn't long after her arrival that CJ made her way across the room and without a word wrapped Anita in a warm hug. "I'm so, so glad you're here. Thank you."

Leaning into the hug she squeezed her arms around CJ, before pulling back, hand resting lightly on the other woman's arm.

"For you? You knew I'd come."

Grissom looks distinctly uncomfortable with the idea of mingling. Maybe that's why he's apparently seen fit to do his impression of a coat rack in various corners of the auditorium. The floor must have a really interesting pattern to have caught his attention like this.

"It could be worse. I could be inspecting the plants for insect life."

Bruce had told her CJ was fine, that the situation was under control, being managed. Still, she remembered what her mind had been like that one time in Callahan's, and currently? Faith in Bruce Gordon was on the wane.

I mean honestly, how would the man even -know-, Emma muttered internally.

Besides, she reasoned. If she was going to be taking Daddy for everything and then some? She'd need to be known in this town.

She'd deal with her concerns later. For now? That fish and chips looked -really- good....

Rogue wandered over to the food tables after greeting CJ and John. "Emma! Nice to see you again."

Emma turned from the table at the familiar voice. "Marie," She grinned. "Good to see you again, and you're looking good." Eyes turned to gaze over the reception room. "How goes the networking?"

A small dance floor is set up at one end of the auditorium.
