Random things - picture post

I saw this display at Publix the other day, and was impressed by how long it must have taken to build.  The photo doesn't do justice to the enormous size - the stack of cases it sits on is about 5 feet tall, and the pumpkin itself was probably another 10 to 12 feet tall.  I wonder how long it will take them to sell all that orange soda later on.  ( Read more... )

Love, love, love Baxter and his pillow. How funny that I love black cats and adore the name Baxter. I'm sure you planned it that way. :-)

I will now have nightmares about the spider. I don't want to leave my own house now. Except that there is a cricket in the kitchen...now I am torn.

And don't house fires just scare the bejeezus out of you? When Richy rewired our house (back when it was just mine) he was amazed it hadn't burned to the ground. I felt SO safe after that.

Baxter is the most wonderful, softest, most affectionate cat in the world. He wants attention a lot, and sadly with so many pets we can't devote ourselves to letting him live on our laps 24 hours a day like he would prefer. He's a total sweetheart.

I think you should take your chances with the cricket, because crickets won't eat off your entire face while you sleep, and shit gallons of poison into your exposed sinuses like spiders will. THEY ARE EVIL!!!!!!

Yes, that's very comforting to know that your house should have burned down, but didn't. Thank goodness you called him, for so many reasons!

But crickets have tiny machetes to cut you with. I've seen them. Stop laughing.

So many reasons!! I mean, he does yard work, too! Haha! That and I love him so.

Baxter says thanks! He would probably get along well with your new black and white adoptee.

*Spider Hate High Five*

They are evil and must be destroyed.

Cat is cute. Spider is big. GAH.

...is that police tape? Not to be nervous nellie, but I'm guessing someone croaked in that fire, and they can't tear it down because it's evidence in an ongoing investigation. Of some sort. Hopefully it's just insurance fraud.

The tape says, "Fire Line - Do Not Cross", which may (hopefully) just be standard for any fire, but you're right, if they suspect arson and insurance fraud, I guess all that paperwork takes time.

I want the house to be removed because it freaks me out, and everything is all about me.

Freaking out is normal. Besides, you're partly freaking out because you're worried about other people's kids, so you're completely justified. Enjoy a justified freak-out while it lasts. Maybe get in a few incoherent screeches, break a couple of things.

Well, the holidays are coming, so even if I manage to keep my cool now, I'm sure I'll be working in a few incoherent speeches and tantrums just in time for my dad's wife at Christmas. It's nice to have traditions.

Wolf spider. Yeah, huge fuckers. You remember the pictures I had on my LJ when one invaded my house.

Basically harmless, but eeeek!

Even harmless, once they cross the threshold to come indoors, they have accepted their own death sentence, as far as I'm concerned. Go live outside if you absolutely must, but once you enter human territory, it's time to die!!!!!
