Why are somber letters from your bank informing you of an overdraft signed "Yours truly, Overdraft Recovery"?  Whose bright idea was that? Seriously.

ps.  i am trying to write an essay about my childhood paralleling my mom's tumor this past holiday season-- i feel i'm on the edge of something truly meaningful and raw and true, and i am really trying to stay focused.  i know the first draft will be jumbled and not deep enough but i am determined to stick with this.

i'm aching for the remnants of college, of  feeling broken and excited and full of possibility....
