Well done! I know I couldn't do it at the moment, in whatever time. :)
Glad you emerged from it unscathed. It didn't quite work out that way for a few others, with both companies I work for (Clown and First Intervention) being involved in some serious (and ultimately fatal) events. Fortunately, I was stuck at Hell on Earth dealing with stupid people instead, and didn't have to do anything resembling real work. ;(
Looking forward to catching up somehow on the GVRB...
To which end, did you want to try catching up? I'll probably be in or near the ambulance marked either 'First Intervention' or 'Event Paramedics' (can't remember what it's badged-up with at the moment) that will be at the campsites and lunch stop each day.
I wont be at the ride lunch stops, but when I am 'working' I will be in the information tent/van/whatever it is! Are you heading up with the normal BV transport on Friday? I am getting the bus from Tesltra Dome on Friday morning which drops us off at Wang and then another bus will take the vollies to the Beechworth site for the Friday night - not sure if I have to work Friday or not, but feel free to cruise past the info area and find me and I will keep an eye out for you in your area :D
I know around 20-30 people doing the ride of being a vollie this year so I have to try to meet up with lots of people, fortuantely though we all know each other through the same means, so we will all be trying to get together most days - you are welcome to join us :D
Are you going to the James Morrison concert? I will be!
I'm driving the truck up to Beechworth on Friday, and will probably be having dinner with the health-care boys and girls. I imagine one of us will bump into the other. :)
According to my boss the plan is to move from camp, to lunch stop, to camp; with transport as required from X to Y (camp site, hospital, rendesvous with RAV ambulance etc.) This is the first year that FI has covered the ride, so I iamagine there will be a lot of working it out as we go...
Not sure about the James Morrison concert yet. I can certainly see me lashing out on a hotel room or caravan park cabin or something at least one night though; just for the luxury of a real bed and shower.
