[Jack is home from his seaside adventure and immediately writes out four very quick notes to certain people, not bothering with filters or any of that rubbish:]
[ finding the note is like a shot of cheer on an otherwise kind of...unhappy half of a week. it has her up and gathering her things from a library table (why yes, buffy had been researching something -- tell no one).
buffy hits up a few possible places around the village before she stops by the bridge. if he isn't here, then she is going to continue straight on to the cullen house. ]
[It might not look like Jack is at the bridge, probably because he is lurking in the small stand of trees just on the other side of the bridge--the House 7 side. Sword drawn and unsavory deeds on the brain, waiting.]
[All Jack hears are light footsteps on the bridge; a quick glance through the evergreen branches confirms that it is Buffy and he considers his options:
1) Attack without warning.
2) Attack WITH warning.
3) Don't attack at all.
4) Test his own stealth.
5) There IS no option five.
Sword still drawn, Jack will wait until she has passed before following her, keeping to the trees and staying as quiet as he can.]
[The pirate might spot the former Watcher sitting near Marauding Bridge.
Near. Not on. Nowhere near close enough to be mistaken for "crossing" it. He's just...staring blankly at nothing. Occasionally, the grass rustles around him and the water shifts strangely.
And, because Giles is no fool, he happens to have a broadsword within easy arm's reach.]
[Oh, wonderful. Giles. Bugger. Jack paces back and forth, unwilling to relinquish his position on the bridge but just dying to needle the former Watcher SOMEHOW. Finally he begins a game called "Throw Stones At Giles, Making Them Land As Close To Him As Possible Without Actually Hitting Him Because Then Buffy Will Hit Me.]
[Giles lets that go on for a while. Meditation is a talent of his. Then the wind picks up a little, and some of the stones tossed his way start getting violently blown back at Jack.]
[Jack dodges these, getting more annoyed at Giles's attempt to out-passive-aggressive him. Finally he quits throwing stones and throws a dagger, aiming to sink it into the ground near where Giles is seated. Because how dare he come near the Marauding Bridge?]
[Saleh; he never puts up a fuss or a fight. What WOULD it take to get a rise out of him? Jack is curious about this as he steps to the center of the bridge---not to fight, just to ask questions.]
'Allo, Sage. Dreamed horribly erotic things about your mum last night--hope you don't mind, lad.
[Sitting on the riverbank near the bridge, actually clearly on the opposite side to Giles and staring at the water like it has all the answers to the universe. Be a pretty awesome river if it did, really.]
[Mihai is actually completely unaware that there's anything called a "Marauding Bridge." He's just trying to get home with some things from the bakery. It'd been raining so much he thought he might try and cheer the house some. That doesn't work, however, when you go in the completely wrong direction just as it starts to rain again. He looks up at the sky and lets out a soft laugh.]
[Rule 1: NEVER bring baked goods across the Marauding Bridge, for it will only end in heartbreak for you.
Ah--a familiar voice. The pirate remembers a certain conversation in which this man gave him some very sound, practical advice. Well. Jack gives up leaning casually against the railing at those words and decides to bite:]
Aye---perhaps the worst mistake you could make in this godforsaken place, mate. Hand over that bag, then, and be quick about it.

[...Wait, what? Mihai stops at the voice, which he doesn't quite remember yet, more focused on the fact that someone is apparently trying to rob him. He'll turn toward Jack with a look of utter befuddlement before pointing a finger at himself.]

buffy taps her open palm on the rail before continuing forward -- back towards house seven and the lake far beyond it. ]
