[ someone else has jack sparrow's birthday on the brain. that someone else, however, is sober as a judge. still, she must always cross that darned bridge to get to her house and in that house rests a lovely little something that she must get to and acquire before she can find the birthday pirate.

two steps onto the bridge and she sees the pony first. ] ...Murphy? What are you--?

[Question of the hour: Is Jack's disguise clever enough that standing very, very still among the trees on the far side of the bridge will cause people to simply Not See Him?

Murphy, for his part, is happy to see Buffy. He trots right up to her and nuzzles her hand and neighs for a treat. Murphy is the kind of pony who demands treats. Otherwise he might not let you cross...

Where on earth could he have picked up THAT bad habit?]

"...Seen him around?" Buffy rather sweetly asks of the pony. He can't be too far, she suspects, with the animal here of all places. She leaned down and patted Murphy's little pony nose.

As the Slayer had no special senses for disguised pirates, when remained ignorant of how close Jack was.

Murphy simply neighed again and pawed at the wooden planks of the bridge with one little hoof. What was this lady even talking about? Carrots, woman! Carrots! Carrots are being requested and in point of fact demanded at this particular moment!

And pirates! Pirates are currently trying to decide whether to sneak off through the trees or stick around and possibly get hided by short blond women.

[...as soon as he hears the drunken, obnoxious singing from pirate and pony, Giles sighs in frustration and is off to marauding bridge.

...not to actually cross, though. No, just to sit five feet to the left and do some meditating with the sword in easy reach. As is usual. The goal here is to stop Jack marauding any of his friends. Not get marauded himself. Again.]

Oi! Murphy! What's that one verse about the bespectacled git what we're so fond of?

"We steal and pilfer and pocket the watches and don't really care that they belong to the Watcherrrrrrrrs!"

Hahahahahaha!

[There's a nice little loop Ginia likes to take for a morning run that takes her along the river. Of course, to get across the river, one must take the bridge, and it just so happens one such bridge is the marauding bridge.

She slows down as she approaches the bridge, stopping at the foot of it to look at the pony there.

...Interesting.]

[Ah HA! A victim! It has been so, so long since Jack has had a proper victim! And Murphy, doing such a brilliant job of luring her in with his cute pony charms! Flipping glorious little prancing sausage, was Murphy! The pirate would give him some oats and Jack Daniels, later. But first? Dramatical Marauding Voice of Splendor!]

Halt! You must now, fair miss, pay the toll what is charged on this here bridge. Namely....valuables. Any valuables on your person! Hand them over, at once!

[Aww, pony. Lover of all animals, Ginia's gives Murphy a gentle rub along his cheek once she's certain he's not a cranky, bitey kind of pony. At the sound of a Dramatical Marauding Voice of Splendor, she straightens up a little.

This morning just keeps getting better.

Unfortunately, when you're mute, there's not much one can do as far as replies go. So she goes right back to petting Murphy. Aww, pony.]

Erm-------------valuables? Handing---handing them over?

[Murphy, meanwhile, basks in the attention, because he is a Basking in the Attention sort of pony. He IS giving her a bit of the Carrot Eye, however. Just a little one? Nice and orange? Crunchy?]

[Crossing that bridge and staring right at this because, seriously? That's a disguise? He still smells like a pirate.]

[WUH oh Beautiful Sheena! Just....pretend you don't know her.]

AVAST, young missy! If you wish not to taste the tale of me blade, I'd fork over immediately any fine and expensive personal items what you might be carrying on your person. I.O.U.'s to your brothel will be considered though possibly not accepted.

Don't be an idiot. You'd never actually cut me with that thing, and you're the only person who calls it a brothel. You don't fool me Jack.

[The sword drops back to his side in a gesture of disappointment.]

Bugger. Right. Fork over your valuables, Sheena, and you won't get...threatened any further.
