As far as the asking about salary matching thing goes, if you think you could live on it I wouldn't necessarily ask for the match only because it is an internship. I know with all the internships I've done, the interns are paid the same rate set by HR. There usually isn't any salary flexibility until they make an actual job offer. It probably wouldn't hurt to ask I suppose, especially if you feel you have a really strong bargaining position with Pixar. Otherwise, if you are just another intern to them, it might serve you well not to appear too demanding if you are counting on them making you an offer later on. Just my 2 cents ;) again congrats, and best of luck!
As for salaries, I've never heard of HR negotiating *Intern* pay. That's usually the same for all interns. If it were a full time, then sure but, it's just an internship (i.e temp). If you like the position, just take it and learn as much as you can in the process. Internships are mainly about learning and networking with people who can help you later.
Yea that is what I thought too, but HR lady I was talking to was saying that if I wanted to discuss salary, I should feel free to talk with her since she did not what that sort of thing to be an issue when choosing the position. So I kind of got the hint that they were willing to match.
