the BASICS
Name: Rue
Age: 18
Gender: Female
Likes/Talents/Hobbies:
#1: I suppose that I'm nocturnal. I love to stay awake until wee hours.
#2: I love rainbows, because they're so colorful but I don't see them often.
#3: I love pizzas, but whenever I feel down, I love to eat fries to cheer myself up.
#4: I love to do personality quizzes, even though I'm aware that most quizzes are lame and/or inaccurate.
#5: I love to daydream, but I would like to point out that some of my daydreams are R-rated.
Dislikes/Pet Peeves:
#1: I dislike people who boast about their achievements, especially those who write to newspapers to boast. I believe that if their achievements are truly worthy of attention, then they don't have to boast.
#2: I dislike people, usually girls, who giggle and gossip so loudly on buses that my eardrums hurt.
#3: I've read the Twilight saga, but I can't stand Twilight fans who can't stop proclaiming how deeply they love this series.
#4: I dislike people who claim that Harry Potter books promote occultism. Gosh!
#5: I dislike people who believe that "my friend's enemy is my enemy".
the FAVORITES (and please try to explain why)
Color(s): Purple. I can't explain why I love purple ever since I can recognize colors. I appreciate all shades of purple.
Movie(s): Aw, I rarely watch movies. In fact, I prefer the TV. I suppose that I love Mulan since I have a soft spot for Disney princesses.
Music: I admit that I don't really care much about music. My sisters label me as a lunatic when they find out how much I love bubblegum pop. The catchier the chorus, the better.
Book(s): I can't afford to buy books, so I usually borrow them from libraries instead. I find Yukio Mishima's The Temple of the Golden Pavilion memorable. Thanks to this book, I'm tempted to visit Japan.
Food: Pizza.
Animal: Penguin. I think that penguins are the cutest birds of all, maybe even cuter than kiwis.
Season: Summer. In Singapore, every day is a summery day. :D
Quote/Saying: Niccolo Machiavelli, "Since love and fear can hardly exist together, if we must choose between them, it is far safer to be feared than loved."
the PERSONALITY
What are some of your positive traits?
#1: Easy to please, even a smile can brighten my day. :D
#2: Imaginative, this trait does help me when I'm writing, haha.
#3: Inquisitive, when I'm interested in a topic, I keep researching on it. I believe that learning is a lifelong process.
#4: Responsible, even though I often procrastinate, I seldom miss deadlines.
#5: Thoughtful, some people say that I'm tactless, but I disagree with them.
What are some of your negative traits?
#1: Bad-tempered, when I was still a toddler, I locked myself in the bedroom and threw toys around almost every day.
#2: Inflexible, I hate changes, especially last-minute changes. I don't always adapt well to changes.
#3: Shy, I hate making small talk so much that parties and family reunions stress me out. I'm upset that people often mistake shyness for arrogance.
#4: Timid, I'm scared of heights and I'm even more scared of losing my balance because my sense of balance isn't very good anyway.
#5: Worries excessively, people have warned me that if I continue to clutter my mind with worries, then I'll snap one day.
How do you view love and relationships?
Gah, I love to read about romances, but I'm very cynical about love nowadays. I've never believed in "Love at first sight".
What are your some of your goals and dreams?
I admit that I would rather drift around than set goals. I've promised my boss that I can work until May or June, so I hope that I can keep this promise. Gosh, I've never dreamt that I'll be working in a fast food restaurant during the hols.
THIS or THAT (feel free to elaborate)
Optimistic or Pessimistic? Pessimistic, I've learnt that the more optimistic I am, the harder I fall.
Realist or Idealist? I don't really know, though my Keirsey type is Idealist. (Yup, I'm an INFP, formerly an INFJ.)
Introverted or Extroverted? Introverted, I realize that if I talk too much, then I feel really drained afterwards.
Impulsive or Cautious? Impulsive, no wonder I've made so many mistakes that I later regret.
Leader or Follower? Follower, I admit that I'm an excellent follower but a lousy leader.
Mature or Immature? Immature, I always feel as though I'm the youngest in the family.
Selfish or Selfless? Selfish, I don't dare to say that I'm selfless because I know that I'm not saintly enough.
Trusting or cynical? Cynical, I'm so scared that I'll hurt myself by trusting the wrong person again and again.
Romantic or not? Nope, I'm not romantic. In fact, I'm averse to Public Displays of Affection.
the HEROINE
Describe your personal style: Huh? I'm guilty of dressing myself up in T-shirt+Bermudas+Sandals even when everyone else has dressed themselves up beautifully. I admit that I value comfort more than anything else.
Describe (briefly!) your ideal romantic partner (or if you’d prefer to be alone, explain why): I would appreciate somebody who is feminine in appearance but masucline in personality, preferably atheletic. Most importantly, we must be able to trust each other 100%.
How do you overcome obstacles and hardships? I do seek out others for advice.
Where would you most like to live? (this may include houses, locations, climates, etc.) I know that Singapore is just a teeny-weeny island that is so tiny that "six degrees of separation" works really well here, but I won't migrate to any other country.
What kind of heroine do you think you would be? I think that I might be an Ice Queen. I might seem sweet, but when I'm bitchy, then I'm really bitchy.
Which heroine do you think you’re least like? Um, Irene Adler, I doubt that I'll outwit Sherlock Holmes. :)
Is there anything else you’d like us to know and take into consideration? Nope. :D
