Veritable Buffet of Manliness

Jumpstarting my car didn't work... So, I just ripped out my car battery. Macho. I'm now bullying Scott into taking me to a Midas or Autozone for a replacement ( Read more... )

Did I read that right..."National Enquirer PARODY?" That's like parodying Scary Movie or Weird Al songs...

d20 Modern game sounds pretty cool. I would play.

Cheers!

Indeed.

I'd like to one day introduce these gamers to the Storyteller System, but in the meantime, I'll have to sneak roleplaying in between the gunplay and strategizing. Still, I'm glad you approve.

Ugh. I get creeped out every time Golding references their sleek, naked, lithe, and/or glistening young bodies. How is that not creepy? It's like some sort of horrible proto-Lolita. The voyeur's edition. And yet it's required reading in High School.

That said, yes. Stranded on an island, exploring it, forming warring tribes, etc. I did appreciate the survival and leadership themes, even if his fixation on their appearance, and their "fulfilling themselves" on the carcass of a sow, did unsettle me somewhat.

Yeah, I'm not too fond of Lord of the Flies either, though I missed the "fulfillment" part (I read it as a very naive seventh grader).

When are you running this game and is there a snowball's chance in hell of me getting in on it? :)

Well... Certainly! I should arrive back in Richmond by the end of April. I'll be there until fall semester starts up at IUB. The game is the "goofing off" portion of a Philosphy group at my church, run by Adam (the sole reason I still attend that church). You'll likely get a kick out of the discussion, and you're welcome to join in the game. Adam takes a fair bit of heat from the elders for his preference for logic over doctrine, so I imagine you'd get along fine. Central Christian is between Round Barn and Airport Road on 40. I'll talk more about it when I know which days it will meet and so on.

Ooh, can I play too? I've been DMing so much lately, it seems like I never play anymore. (Yes, I know that isn't true, but it sometimes seems that way.) I'd love to be in on one (or more) of your games.

BTW, what's Heath up to these days? Since I'll be in town over the summer, it'd be good to be able to actually show up more than once in a while.
