You know, there's an excellent reason I have that "don’t write in fandoms where you haven’t seen the canon" rule.
Either you've seen the canon since Friday, or you fake it good. In which case, welcome yet again - I wrote all but one of the not-very-many stories I've written thus far without ever having seen an ep of due South.

Oh, god, I know. It is the most wonderful meme. And, hey - are you keeping a list? I've got all the ones I've read from both iterations bookmarked, and I would be willing to share and trade, because you've probably seen some that I haven't, and vice versa. And there's no easy way to search LJ, dammit.

OK, see, I never expected anyone to read that WIP meme. I wrote it for me, so I'd remember what I'm doing (and what I must Never Do Again OMG Bad Bad Bad Ocean's 11 Fic). And, reading the meme over just now, I realized that one is totally unclear. The idea is that on the Valentine's Day when Angel is first Angelus (the same VDay on which Cordelia breaks up with Xander, so this would be an AU that would pick up in the middle of "Bewitched, Bewildered, and Bothered"), instead of just leaving Buffy flowers, he comes back and kills her. A police officer would of course have to investigate, and ( ... )

No, I'm not, but brilliant suggestion. My plate's a little full at the moment, what with real life on top of the fun stuff, but this sounds like a worthwhile project; when I have a minute, I'll do this and then we can exchange links, yeah?
(and what I must Never Do Again OMG Bad Bad Bad Ocean's 11 FicYeah, maybe - although given your writing it'd've been fun to see what you'd've come up with - but the meme version cracked me up nonetheless. Of all the motivations for two characters to sleep with one another, "because I love someone else and am hoping this will prove it to them" is among the hardest to believe. Right up there for me with "I loved Stella, but I was never really attracted to her" for RayK and "Victoria was just because I was desperate" for Fraser ( ... )

OK. My favorites from the first round of this (of the ones I saw; there were many I didn't, I'm sorry to report), including the first one ever, are linked from http://www.livejournal.com/users/thefourthvine/27822.htmlhere. (Page down through the other recs; it's the last one.) This meme tends to come and go, and its current incarnation involves an either/or choice - extract or humorous dialog. Not a lot of authors seem to be picking the humorous format, but recently Annie S. (out_there) did, and I liked hers a lot. And...that's all I have for you, I'm afraid. But qe2 was way more thorough than me, and is very nice besides, so if these don't assuage your appetite (And why would they? It's a great meme.), she would probably be willing to point you toward some more.
