I usually take a ton more pictures of the little princess but I fell short this trip. I'm kind of mad at him anyway. One night, at one AM he meowed to be let out JUST AS A MOUSE RAN ACROSS THE KITCHEN FLOOR BEHIND HIM. No, really, WTF? You haven't finished your work here on the ground but you want to go out and eat bats? Which he totally started doing this summer and is why he is not allowed out at night anymore. As you can see he would not die f boredom indoors.
Yes. My in-laws drove something like 40 hours to Chicago to get him. Eleanor was six months old at the time, and Wiglet was none too pleased about the new arrival. They needed a mouser anyway - squirrels and mice had been running around the farm like they owned the joint after their last cat died. Within a few months, he bonded with my in-laws and became a four legged killing machine. Wiglet is getting ornery in his older years, unfortunately. He is very attached to Patrick's mom -- a huge comfort since his dad passed away six years ago -- but Wiglet has been hostile toward us over the last couple of visits.
"He doesn't like strangers," she reminds us.
" Strangers? But he wouldn't even BE here if it weren't for us!" I say.
I can only assume Wiglet thinks to himself, "I had seniority, yet you chose to keep the girl. You are therefore dead to me."
Eep, that pic is actually from last summer! Thank you for thinking of me, though. We did just get back from two and a half weeks on the East Coast - drove this time (oy).
