I Love Shiney Things

May 02, 2005 15:04

As one last birthday present, D had my bike detailed for me while it was at the shop for it's spring inspection/tires/once over.

All I can say is WOW!! It looks beautiful! There's nothing quite as nice as a polished ride!

Fall called - Spring and summer are cancelled.

Please note all the $#&*)% dandelions in my grass. This serves as clear evidence that fall missed the cancellation deadline. Spring will be forthcoming (as will weed killer).

Heh, you don't have to tell me. This past saturday and sunday of trying to mow the grass, that's all I saw.. clumps of grass and dandelions. Sure doesn't feel like spring lately... that's the only thing I hate about our region. You have this slight 'warm' days for a few, but then it jumps into muggy ass weather with no warning.

This is the first year we have had them out front. The back is basically overrun with them, but they used to stay out of the front yard.

The weather in this region makes riding in the spring a challenge. It goes from cold to warm to pouring rain to muggy to cold again, all in under 24 hours. Fun Fun.

It really came out great. It looks pretty close to new. It makes that itch to go for a ride all that much stronger.

How much does a Bike like that cost new?

They don't make Virago's anymore, this one is 12 years old ...

When they were new, they ran between $3600 and $4000 (IIRC).

Thank hon.

I am just trying to figure out if it is more cost affective to have a Bike rather than a car.

I want to buy something new so that I wont be likely to have any problems with it.
