The reason I didn't post much here in the past 2yrs is that things were totally depressing, and I didn't want to talk about it. I was doing a Master's degree that I hated, and it was killing me

Oh yay!
I'm so glad to hear your decision, that you got in, and that you're loving it! Where are you at school?
I'm also finding I'm so much happier now that I've switched to geophysics. I also enjoy music more now that I don't have to do it.
(And it's totally normal for comp sci students to be non-social. *flees*)

I'm at McGill (same place I did my Master's!).
Did you stay at the same school too? California, right? (I wouldn't mind being there now... damn snow!)
I'm very slowly getting less annoyed with music :)
