We have a senior partner who tells a version of that joke every year - at the farewell dinner for the summer associates! He has told it so many times it's only necessary to say "Allen's joke" and everyone knows what you are talking about.

I found it quite amusing...It is agreed that the best job is to be a summer associate! You are wined and dined and grossly overpaid!

I didnt know you also worked at a Firm...see, now I'm confused. Do you work at a firm and teach part time?

Awful picture. My sister said I didn't know dad worked for your firm. I've been "of counsel" (whatever that means) since February, and I'm taught one night a week for ten years.

Keep cool. I hope you weren't on the subway when the air conditioning went out.

Actually my train last night was sans AC...it was absolutely miserable. At least, however, my side of town has not lost power! Just four more days and I am out of here!

Today I either get the boot or a job offer....hopefully it shall be the latter! Keep your fingers crossed.

Isn't "of counsel" a non-equity partner?
