Well-read peoples of LJ!  Any ideas for a reading for a wedding?  It's a religious ceremony, so could be a Bible verse, but the couple aren't particularly religious so they (and the minister) would be happy with a poem or a passage from something.  Everything I find romantic tends to be bittersweet and achy and rather not ideal for a wedding.  Any ( Read more... )

Such a perfect night for Guy Fawkes!  Crisp and clear and dry.  We didn't have a bonfire, but we went out to Queen's View with a bootful of fireworks.  Then another car pulled up and started letting off these massive display-type rockets that went on forever.  You must have been able to hear them for miles.  Somebody else had those big lantern ( Read more... )

Amazing Italian Friday night, amazing roast dinner Saturday night, amazing Chinese last night. That is all that has been good about life lately, but it helps.

I'm going home to eat leftovers.

We went to the local Doctor Who convention yesterday. I sickleh. Work mental. Want duvet.

So far nothing exciting has happened in 2009. Boy became ill on New Year's Day and followed it up with putting his back out, and now I am germ-ridden.

I miss Christmas.

So, who's been having fun so far this year? (For what is LJ if not living vicariously?)

I just ordered Party Animals in order to get a glimpse of the new Doctor (me and 10,000 others, no doubt).  So far, I'm not thrilled, probably mostly because I dislike children.  But this kind of casting decision is really impossible to judge until he's seen in action, so I'll remain hopeful that they know what they're doing ( Read more... )
