Decided to give sock making another try. This time with a different shop & different instructor. Seems to be going o.k. so far. It's see when I get a pair completed how I feel. I think this is going to be alot easier for me to understand and do. I haven't had much time since the end of July to do much knitting.

As Mary Poppins would say "I'm Practically Perfect in every way." Had the yearly physical and outside of being overweight (which I am trying to change) I am in fine shape. Thanks to Maria's hard work Tony's birthday party was a big success yesterday. I loved the "cars" theme and she did a great job with decorating the cake. He got so many cars too. now I know why I don't go to community plays. friends and neighbors can't act. I love professional theatre and go often but gads this was awful. The play was "Smoke on the Mountain" a musical. the singing was good but man no one could act worth a darn. I am more tired this a.m. then yesterday & I went to bed at a decent time last night. Kept waking up though. I had been at Twins game Sun. nite & still went to work Monday & did fine. It's been many moons since I waited up for a child to come home. A 12 yr. old no less. Brennan is staying with me for a few days. He was at a Twins game last night. Mel -Never had a mouse in this house but in previous places I have. Yesterday at work I went to go to the basement to check circuit breaker on A.C. Opened door and up flew a bat. They don't bother me but it did startle me. Got out the handy, dandy bat catcher (a butterfly net I keep handy). I just waited till it settled down to try and catch it. ( Read more... )

don't you just love it when LJ suddenly re-posts a whole bunch of picture that were posted years ago. Every now and again I check out LJ and end up with all of #1 son's old picture, the one with Brennan eating a hotdog several years ago at the state fair and all of the odd merchandise signs at Target etc. Got them all again this morning.
