Perhaps you could ask Nobody to sketch you one, if the Gundams were any of your business.

Housekeeping will take care of the stains. Be more careful next time.

I've talked to Nobody, actually, but only seen parts from his sketches. Limbs and such, not the whole. And what makes you think that they aren't my business?

Kind of hard to be careful when the sky opens up and rains cocoa down on your head with little warning. But it's good to know it won't be an issue.

If you were involved, I would know. A blood relation does not count.

It's called an umbrella.

Haha, clever. But maybe you've forgotten more than you realize because I have some pretty damned good grounds for thinking I knew you before I even got here.

Oh, really, now? I never would have known. Tell me, do you carry an umbrella with you everywhere you go? Or, for that matter, expect anything but rain or snow to fall on any given day?

You aren't familiar to me in the least. Even if you haven't appeared in my dreams or memories, I would have subconsciously acknowledged you as a person from my past.

It's best to always be prepared. Very little here is predictable.

Well, I don't know what the hell is up, then, because I know I talked to you in my dream. Kind of hard to miss a tone like yours.

You never answered my question on whether you take that particular precaution every day.

How is that possible? It was probably a normal dream (though I don't recall giving you permission to dream about me) or someone else's. I could see someone like you easily making that sort of careless mistake.

I take precaution on days when it is likely. It is not hard to pay attention to the environment.

I doubt dreams where you fall out of cocoon afterward are really normal dreams. (Hell, if I'd had the choice, I wouldn't have. You were nagging me.)

Also, I'm not stupid, despite what you seem to think of me. You've registered as familiar from day one.

Oh, so you can tell when there's an 80% of cocoa with marshmallow flurries? That's quite a talent. I'm sure it's served you well in life.

[Pause.]Are you implying I was in your birth dream?

The second one, yes. ...Possibly the first, but I couldn't make out the faces, there.

When did you have the second dream? Before or after you met me?

After.

What, people have birth dreams about things other than the places they came from?

It's possible. Far more probable than the two of us having known each other previously.

Then why the hell would I dream about someone I've only talked to in a couple of very brief and not exactly pleasant encounters? That'd seem like a waste of a perfectly good birth dream.

That is your problem, not mine. Perhaps you are the type of person to waste perfectly good opportunities.

But I can't control my birth dreams. It's not like I'm the one making the wasteful choice.
