I think the emotions we feel when listening to music are the only positive, soaring emotions that we can count as true or real. Any extension of those emotions to another person or object changes them into something else and erases the original, pure jubilance and awe you might have had upon hearing and listening to the song. I think that as the word "awkward" has become more deeply ingrained in my vocabulary, awkwardness itself has become more deeply ingrained in my behaviour. I can't talk and I say strange things like "You did really good." Maybe I'm just really out of it and weird or something. I want more bumper stickers for my car.
