It's not so much that I'm "straight-edge;" I just don't understand the fascination people have with alcohol. I don't know if that makes me odd, but I hope not.

nah it doesn't make you odd.
hey what you never try, makes you not know what you're missing.
i'll admit i enjoy drinking and it makes people and events much more interesting.
aside from the vommitting and waking up in a room with other people.

Well, as someone that hasn't tried alcohol ... I'll just say "To each his/her own." I don't want to bother trying, but I also don't care about what other people do.
