The 70's totally sucked to be a teenager. Think 'bee gees' and 'john travolta'. TV bears no resemblance to the reality.

Adventureland was set in the 80's, Lords of Dogtown was only the 70's in California. I wasn't a teenager until '78, but I definitely remember the 80's as being much better - think the beginning of MTV, punk rock and Pop Rocks (for some reason, Pop Rocks" sums up all the day-glo clothes, big hair and silliness of the 80's).

I think the 20's would have been really great - women discovering that they were more than accessories and all. The 30's and 40's would have been tough (though I would have made a great "Rosie the Riveter"), some of the 50's would have been ok, I would have loved the 60's I think... Yeah. 20's for me.

i swear at the beginning of adventureland they said like 1978 or something like that. otherwise, shoooot.
